When and where is this year’s festival?

Bloomington Civic Plaza (East Lawn)

Where should I park?
• Main lot is on the west side of Civic Plaza
• The east lot is reserved for the event itself
• Need more space? Overflow parking is available at Creekside Community Center (98th Street and Penn Avenue)

Q: What is Bloomington Pride MN?
A: We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uplifting and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in Bloomington and beyond. Through inclusive events, educational programs, and advocacy, we create welcoming spaces where everyone can feel they truly belong.

Q: When did it all begin?
A: Our very first Pride Festival launched in 2021—and it’s been growing ever since! Last year welcomed over 2,000 attendees, and 2025 is shaping up to be our biggest celebration yet.

Pride Festival Highlights

Q: What’s the vibe at the Pride Festival?
A: Pure joy and community spirit! Expect live music, local food trucks, vendors, fun activities for all ages, and lots of rainbow-filled celebration.

Q: Do I need a ticket?
A: Nope—it’s completely free to attend!

Q: Can I bring my family?
A: Absolutely! The festival is family-friendly, with plenty of activities for kids and folks of all ages.

What to Bring

Q: What should I bring with me?
A: We suggest:

  • Light layers for shifting weather

  • Sunscreen, a hat, or an umbrella

  • Rain gear (the event is rain or shine!)

  • Avoid valuables—we can’t offer secure storage

Weather and Safety

Q: What if there’s bad weather?
A: If lightning is within 5 miles, we’ll pause the event and ask everyone to seek shelter. We monitor conditions every 30 minutes to keep everyone safe.

Indoor shelter options include:

  • Bloomington City Hall

  • Black Box Theatre

  • Designated interior hallways in Civic Plaza

Q: What if I lose something—or someone?
A: Head to the Information Booth. Our team is trained to help with lost items and reunite families quickly.

Q: What about emergencies?
A: Call 911 first. Our volunteers and staff are ready to help and guide attendees to safety if needed.

Community & Year-Round Activities

Q: Is Pride a one-time event?
A: Not at all! We host events year-round—story times, nature walks, socials, and workshops that build connection and community.

Q: Are there educational resources too?
A: Yes! We offer presentations, like our LGBTQ+ history talk for Bloomington City staff, and produce educational videos through our YouTube channel.

A: 100%. Accessibility, safety, and belonging are built into every event we host. Everyone deserves to be celebrated.
